Birders come to the Cochise Stronghold from all over the world. Southeastern Arizona is well known for it's 300+ bird species making it the
premier birding area in the United States.
Speaking of BIRDERS!!!! In 2009 we welcomed our friends from Wings Over Willcox to tour the ranch, with Doug sharing our current history and earlier history of Apache Chief Cochise. We are VERY sure it was the first time this ranch has ever seen a school bus load of
Birders & History Buffs.
